Teeth Whitening | Is Charcoal Harmful for Teeth Whitening?

final smile gif

– Charcoal may cause more harm than good.

– It made my mouth.

– With charcoal toothpaste or charcoal powder to whiten your teeth.

– Here’s looking into a product that many people use to remove stains or whiten their teeth. It’s called activated charcoal.

– So how activated charcoal works is, basically, you know if you know how when they buff a car, they’re actually removing a layer of dirt, paint, and it’s nice and glossy. Activated charcoal, basically, does the same thing to your tooth. So your tooth’s a bit stained and all; it’s taking a bit of the layer off because it’s quite abrasive. So maybe if you’ve used it once only, it might give you a nice, decent result which you’re happy with. It’s not bleaching your teeth, okay? The problem as a dentist that I see with this is if it’s used in wrong quantities, and continuous use, if the enamel is all stripped off, then it’s gonna lead to permanent damage. Once all the enamel is gone, we have to put something over it, something fake. So if I were you, I’d think twice before I get into this. I think the best thing to do is talk to your dentist. Every dentist knows the pros and cons.
